Experts from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Panama, and Uruguay, as well as representatives from FONTAGRO, Global Methane Hub, IICA, and FLAR, met from March 11 to 13 in Chillán, Chile, to share experiences and discuss sustainable rice production and methane emission reductions in Latin America.
Mexico´s 6,200 rice growers hope that the rice sector can witness a new miracle, which will not come from the Philippines this time, but from the joint efforts of a sector that believes in the future.
He is Joseph Tohme or simply Joe, leader, mentor, and manager, and he could also even be called the scientific guru of generations of researchers that have learned beside him a particular way of making science.
The prizes will be awarded at the United Nations Climate Summit next Sept. 23 in New York City.
