Philippines – Kalinga bagged as top rice producer

Source: Sun Star20/03/2013 – Kalinga was considered as one of the top rice-producing provinces in the Philippines when it won in three categories in the 2012 Agri-Pinoy Rice Achievers Awards of the Department of Agriculture (DA).

Uganda – Brazil contributes rice to WFP valued at U.S.$1 million for refugees in Uganda

Source: All Africa20/03/2013 – The Government of Brazil today made its first contribution to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in Uganda: some 2,000 metric tons of rice worth about US$1 million. The rice will be used over the coming months to provide 155,000 refugees with relief assistance.
