Who are We?
Since its creation on January 16, 1995, the Latin American Fund for Irrigated Rice, FLAR, generates and disseminates knowledge, technologies, and innovations through alliances that contribute to the competitiveness and sustainability of rice.
The FLAR brings together various organizations linked to rice in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, and Venezuela, in addition to the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, as a strategic partner.

Contributions
The FLAR is supported by the annual contributions that member countries must make. This contribution is calculated based on the average of the paddy rice production data from the last three years, which are published by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), on the FAOSTAT statistics website.
